Our History

1971

Not long out of high school, Alan Wilson starts work in the insurance industry as a humble clerk at New Zealand Insurance. Over the next 8 years he masters the ropes in Underwriting, Claims and Office Admin until he is promoted to District Inspector, a job that takes him out on the road meeting clients, visiting insurance offices and studying the way other insurance professionals work. Being a classic “people person” Alan thrives on client contact and professional interaction.

1978

Alan lands the District Manager spot at the local office of Australian Eagle Insurance Group. For the next 6 years he looks at the insurance business through a microscope and a telescope. Alan comes to one defining conclusion: “For most people, insurance is a sales business. To me it’s a service business.”

1984

Alan decides it’s time to put his money where his heart is and buys his own business. Alan Wilson Insurance Brokers is born: with Alan Wilson and a staff of one.

2018

30+ years later, Alan Wilson Insurance Brokers aka AWIB moves into our stunning new corporate headquarters in downtown Traralgon, Victoria.

2022

PSC Insurance Group acquires 100% of the share capital of AWIB Pty Ltd t/as Alan Wilson Insurance Brokers (AWIB).

PSC Insurance Brokers is a national insurance brokerage providing cost-effective insurance advice and solutions to commercial and small-to-medium businesses across Australia.
